John E. Bailye
Executive Chairman & President and CEO

Previously, John Bailye founded, chaired and served as CEO of Dendrite, a pioneer in the development of software applications for pharmaceutical sales force management. Under his leadership, Dendrite grew from $175,000 in annual sales in 1987 to more than $420 million in 2006. The company received wide industry acclaim and was ranked 44 among the 100 fastest growing companies in the United States by Fortune Magazine in 2000. In May 2007, Dendrite was sold for nearly $800 million. At that time Dendrite was a publicly traded global company that employed nearly 3,000 people in approximately 60 countries, and its client base included the world’s top 20 pharmaceutical companies. Originally from Australia, John has been a leading supporter of entrepreneurship and technology growth in New Jersey, having served as a founding member of the New Jersey Technology Council. He received the Golden Door Award from the NJ International Institute and was twice honored with Ernst & Young's New Jersey Software and Technology Entrepreneur of the Year® award. In 2003, Business Review Weekly named him as one of the top 20 influential Australians in the United States. John is a graduate of the University of New South Wales. He holds a Bachelor of Commerce degree in finance, marketing, and business.

Graham May, M.D.
Chief Medical Officer

Graham May, M.D. has more than 25 years experience in the pharmaceutical, medical device, and biotechnology industries in the US and Europe, and is responsible for multiple product approvals in a wide array of therapeutic areas. Prior to EKR, he held senior management positions with Esprit Pharma and ESP Pharma, specialty pharmaceutical companies which have since been acquired. He came to the US in 1980 as a visiting scientist at the National Heart, Lung, and Blood Institute in Bethesda, MD where he participated in a number of landmark cardiovascular studies. He also previously held senior research positions at Hoechst-Roussel, Pharmacia, and Cytogen and served as a principal with Gemini Consulting, a leading healthcare management consulting company. Dr. May received his undergraduate and medical degrees from Cambridge University and is an Elected Fellow of the Faculty of Pharmaceutical Physicians.

Michael J. Lerner, J.D.
Senior Vice President, General Counsel

Michael Lerner has over twenty years experience providing legal counsel to the pharmaceutical, life science and healthcare industries. This includes serving as a member of the Lowenstein Sandler Corporate Department and Tech Group with healthcare clients ranging from investors to public companies and venture-backed private companies, as well as founders and management teams. Prior to joining Lowenstein Sandler, Mr. Lerner served for six years as General Counsel at Reliant Pharmaceuticals, Inc. where he was involved with numerous pharmaceutical product acquisitions and dispositions, totaling in excess of $650 million, and where he participated in raising equity and debt financing exceeding $900 million. Previously Michael served at the law firm of Gibbons, Del Deo, Dolan, Griffinger & Vecchione PC where he was the partner in charge of the pharmaceutical and life sciences practice. A cum laude graduate of Boston University, Michael received his J.D. degree from Hofstra University School of Law.

Susan C. Bacso
Senior Vice President, Operations & Supply

Susan Basco returns to EKR after having taken a one year leave to serve abroad as Director, Quality Assurance and Control for Becton Dickinson . She possesses over twenty years of pharmaceutical experience including having served as Vice President of Operations and Supply for EKR Therapeutics with responsibilities for all aspects of manufacturing, technology transfer, supply chain, quality and regulatory assurance affairs related to the production and movement of product. . Earlier in her career, Sue worked at Merck & Co. where she advanced to positions of increasing responsibility including Manufacturing Area Head and Divisional Capital Project Leader. She then served as Senior Director of Quality Assurance and Technical Operations for ESP Pharma and then as Senior Operations Executive for ESP Equity Partners, LLC, a private investment company and one of the original institutional investors in EKR. Sue received a B.S. degree in Chemical Engineering from Northeastern University and also holds a B.S. degree in Physical Geography, Environmental Science from McGill University.

Dave Iwanicki
Senior Vice President, Sales

Dave Iwanicki comes to EKR Therapeutics from PDL BioPharma where he served as Vice President, Sales and Sales Operations and Corporate Officer. He served on the executive management team for the entire time he was at PDL. Dave joined PDL in March 2005 upon the completion of that company’s acquisition of ESP Pharma, Inc., having served in the same capacity at ESP Pharma were he was part of the initial management team that commercialized ESP.  Previously, Dave was employed for fifteen years by Eli Lilly and Company (NYSE:LLY) where he held various sales, marketing and sales management positions. During his tenure with Lilly, Dave spent the last seven years in senior management positions in both retail and hospital sales. He was involved with the creation of Lilly’s cardiology business unit and cardiology specialty sales force and later helped create a diabetes specialty sales force of more than 510 sales representatives that launched three new products in three years and also assisted in creating a critical care sales force of 210 representatives. Dave has spent nearly 15 of his 20 years of pharmaceutical experience in sales and sales operations. Dave received his BS degree in Business Administration from Western New England College.
