Opportunities:
Regional Pain Specialist
The general purpose of the Regional Pain Specialist role is to assist their assigned regions with the selling and technical expertise needed to establish and develop DepoDur accounts. The Regional Pain Specialist will also assist the Hospital Sales Representative by identifying & developing appropriate physician/clinician contacts within his/her assigned region as well as leverage such contacts to champion
formulary wins and pull through initiatives. The Regional Pain Specialist will partner with the Hospital Sales Representative on the following:
- Setting realistic product expectation that will allow the region to maintain
existing business and achieve broader adoption of DepoDur.
- Analyzing targeted hospital business, document the key objectives as well as identify, quantify and prioritizes business-building opportunities for targeted hospital.
- Developing long-term, sustainable accounts that maintain and grow sales
volume over time.
The selling environment is one of information exchange entirely based on approved resources and messages designed to provide an accurate, complete, fair and balanced presentation of EKR Therapeutics products and services. It is expectation that the incumbent of the Regional Pain Specialist, as all other employees, that they are fully accountable for compliance with all laws, regulations and policies that govern the conduct of EKR Therapeutics’ activities.
KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES:
The Regional Pain Specialists are generally expected to:
- Ensure the region meet or exceed set sales goals & targets
- Act in complete & total compliance with all laws, regulations and policies
- Represent the assigned products/brands/and overall franchise to the highest ethical and professional standards and in accordance with guidelines, direction
and key marketing strategies
- Utilize only approved resources and messages to meet goals and targets
- Continue to develop relationships and expand his/her influence for immediate
and longer-term sustainable sales results in assigned region
- Provide insight to internal business partners/stakeholders as to the clinical practices of assigned accounts and products
- Participate as and when needed/working in cross-functional or other project teams and/or supporting peers, the overall division, region, marketing and
sales training
- Work in-services with Hospital Sales Representative as well as implement
strategy for hospitals looking to re-evaluate DepoDur
- Fulfill all administrative responsibilities
- Attend all business meetings as well as the National and Regional Medical Congresses
PRIMARY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
As a Regional Pain Specialist, you are expected to assist the region by achieving sales and by executing Plan of Action (POA) marketing strategies, which includes delivering branded sales messages, executing planned promotional programs, and achieving or exceeding sales targets. Additional responsibilities involve providing feedback on marketing strategy and effectiveness reviews of sales activities and regional analysis, in addition to developing regional strategy with your National Director.
The Regional Specialist will demonstrate leadership by consistent application and modeling of the appropriate behavior and conduct in compliance with relevant laws
and regulations and in accordance with EKR Therapeutics policies. Is required to
obtain and maintain full proficiency and knowledge of disease state, product and
other aspects or issues as provided for and mandated by the company.
Compliance, Knowledge & Skills
Comply with all laws, regulations and policies that govern the conduct of all activities, including but not limited to, PhRMA Code on Interactions with Healthcare
Professionals, Department of Health and Human Services Office of Inspector General Compliance Program guidance for Pharmaceutical Manufacturers, ACCME’s Standards for Commercial Support of Continuing Medical Education, Food and Drug Administration Final Guidance for Industry-Supported Scientific and Educational Activities.. Does not compromise ethics or integrity, or undertake legal risks while pursuing business goals.
Other duties include:
Maintain allocated budget
Cross-Functional/Project Support/Participation & Personal Development
Develops and maintains a hospital profile that documents key strategic and operational information on targeted hospitals
Monitoring and evaluating the progress of the regional sales plan; tracks results and make adjustments
Builds business relationships with hospital decision-makers and influencers
QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE:
- Bachelors Degree
- 6 plus years of previous sales experience within the pharmaceutical, biotech or healthcare industries.
- 4+ years of direct hospital sales experience
- Proven track record of meeting or exceeding objectives & goals
- Market experience and knowledge preferred
- Previous experience in achieving specific sales plans or other financial targets is preferred
- 75% travel is anticipated
